Tsholofelo Tselaemang is a Journalism and Politics graduate from Rhodes University in Makhanda, working in the early stages of a career in filmmaking.

She was raised in Kuruman, a small desert town in the Northern Cape province in South Africa. Her upbringing has informed her specific interest in the authenticity of the “documentary moment” and how it applies across the whole spectrum of audio-visual storytelling. She has directed two pieces of work in this regard, a short Super 8 film for the 2021 Straight 8 shootout, as well as a short film titled Hello Obakeng, which was shortlisted for a 2021 Young Director’s Award, longlisted in the “In The Making” category at the 2021 1.4 Awards as well as shortlisted for the 2022 Ciclope Africa Awards.In addition to directing online content, she has spent the past two years working under the mentorship of Laurence Hamburger, developing longform projects.
