Candice Vernon is a former agency producer turned director whose sharp wit and distinct narrative voice make her a standout in the world of comedy.

Candice creates cinematic worlds that are rich with character and grounded in story, bringing both heart and humour to everything she touches. Her work features A-list talent like Sterling K. Brown, Regina King, and Yara Shahidi, and she’s directed for brands such as Spotify, Cascade, and Vaseline.

Beyond the camera, Candice is passionate about building community, especially among women in our industry. She’s all about creating space for connection, collaboration, and growth.

Candice has recently made Accra, Ghana her new home, having spent many years in agency in New York and moving to Los Angeles for work when she started directing. She has a deep love for Africa and the recent Los Angeles fires gave her the nudge to make the move. She is often in Cape Town and has recently shadowed on an American series shooting here, and is very keen to spend more time in Johannesburg and Cape Town. She brings a wealth of advertising knowledge with her, and is really well positioned to speak to the market here as a female director born in Jamaica and now living in Africa
